We are Investing in Volunteers! We are Investing in YOU!

We are delighted to announce that GUCH PA have begun working towards the national standard in volunteering - the Investing in Volunteer accreditation.

Over the next 8 months we will be looking closely at our volunteering policies, standards and structures to ensure that they all meet or exceed the national standard in volunteering as advised by Investing in Volunteers. We are doing this because we truly value each and every volunteer and we want to make sure that we are doing our very best by everyone who so generously lends their time to helping with GUCH PA.

This is an exciting time for all involved with GUCH PA and we are really optimistic that we can achieve a new level in volunteering standard, to benefit the organization and all individuals involved world wide.

For this project to be as effective and productive as it possibly can be, we would like to invite everybody who so wishes to share their opinions and feedback with us. We would like to establish an informal "consultative forum" to liaise with about our approach to volunteer services now, and how we can improve our relationship with you in the future.

This is not a demanding role and will not take up too much of your time - basically we would like to be able to check in with you every few weeks and discuss amendments and improvements and get your feedback on our plans. We want to work with our volunteers just as much as for them.

If you would like to register your interest for this on-going feedback forum please send an email to victoria@guch.org.uk with the subject heading "Investing in Volunteers". In the body of the email please be sure to include your home address, a contact telephone number and if/how you've ever volunteered for us at all. Please remember that the term "volunteering" covers a huge range of activities, from a sponsored walk or cake sale, writing an article for GUCH News, long term volunteering with our helpline, etc.
