Volunteer Opportunities
We at GUCH PA greatly appreciate any time and support our volunteers can offer us and we are always interested in hearing from anyone wanting to join our volunteer team. Outlined below are some opportunities that we currently have, although any other suggestions for voluntary projects are always welcomed. We provide full training and support, and welcome volunteer applications from everybody. Can you help us with our helpline?
Our helpline service is vital to many and it is often the first time people will come into contact with us. Through delivering empathetic, timely advice and support, information and referrals, our callers are able to obtain answers to a range of queries, can off load and feel listened to, and get informed and empowered.
We are now looking to extend our team of highly skilled volunteers who are dedicated to delivering a first class service and who tirelessly volunteer for us all around the country.
We offer full training and induction as well as ongoing support and supervision.
- Do you have access to an incoming BT Landline?
- Do you have access to a computer?
- Are you comfortable and confident using email and word processing?
- Are you able to remain professional and impartial under pressure?
- Can you be non-judgemental and clear headed around issues that may be personally pertinent?
- Do you have a friendly, receptive and professional telephone manner?
- Are you able to match up individual's needs with the most relevant types of support and information available?
- Can you speak, read and write English fluently?
- Can you spare 3 hours a week on a regular basis?

Whether it's writing an original piece, developing ideas and identifying future themes, or proof reading and providing editorial assistance, there are lots of ways to get onboard.
