Role Description Speaker
Responsible to: Volunteer Development Manager
Main purpose: To give talks about issues affecting adults and young people affected by congenital heart disease.
Key Responsibilities:
- To identify speaking opportunities
- To give talks and presentations
- To provide a short report on the events attended
- To keep up-to-date with key issues of CHD
- To feed back issues arising from talks or potential fundraising opportunities to GUCH PA staff
- Send donations received at talks to the GUCH PA head office
Requirements:
- Access to a vehicle would be useful to transport GUCH PA leaflets and materials
- Confident speaker
- Be able to offer a service in a non-judgemental and non-discriminatory manner.
- To work to the high standards set by GUCH PA
- Work within GUCH PA's policies and procedures
- Attend ongoing training
- Willing to undergo a Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check
Desirable: Able to use Power Point or willingness to learn
Based at: Willing to travel to agreed speaking appointments
Commitment: Number of talks is up to volunteer but we ask that speakers undertake a minimum of two talks per year.
